Today we are honouring three more pioneers in the Aotearoa New Zealand Gifted community: Elaine Le Sueur, Dr Rosemary Cathcart and Emeritus Professor Roger Moltzen. Read about them below!
Elaine Le Sueur has been a quiet but powerful force in gifted education in Aotearoa New Zealand - a writer, educator, practitioner and advocate whose work has helped teachers, parents and schools better recognise and respond to talented learners.
Rosemary is a New Zealand educator and expert in gifted education. She has spent over 40 years working to improve teaching, support, and understanding of gifted learners in New Zealand.
Rosemary is known as the Founder of NZ’s first gifted education centre and One Day School programme, a member of the International Columbus Group, and the author of ‘They’re Not Bringing My Brain Out.’
As we look back over the history of gifted education in Aotearoa New Zealand, Roger Moltzen stands as one of this country’s most influential scholars and advocates - a teacher, principal, academic leader, and author whose work shaped both national policy and professional understanding of gifted and talented education.
