Objective To promote and raise awareness of issues with gifted children throughout New Zealand and to promote National/Branch membership.

Govt. Lobbying

Team Catherina McNamara (team leader), Helen Baber, Sean Rapley
Objective • To build relationships for NZAGC with government, its agencies and consultants.
• To keep up a lobbying presence for gifted children in as many ways as possible.
• To respond to requests to us for comments and participation in government-initiated endeavours.
Budget $200
Deliverables • To get policy statements from each parliamentary party.
• To promote core connections, Education Directions (policy consultants), well-placed MPs.
• To give information on NZAGC to schools, govt organisations, homeschooling and specialist education sections.
• To ask questions, affirm progress and initiatives.

Tall Poppies

Team Julie Nugent (editor), Nigel Smith (desktop publisher), Tracey Moody (mailouts), Sheila Berry (advertising), Lara Smith & Deddie Smith.
Objective To produce a quality national magazine, which will be of interest to professionals in the education industry and parents of gifted children.
Budget $9,000
Deliverables • Tall Poppies (3x per year)
• Tall Poppies manual (policy & procedure) - Audrey & Debbie

National Library

Team Karen Walters (Librarian), Rose Blackett (purchasing), Audrey van Ryn (buyer), Julie Nugent (reviewer)
Objective • To purchase relevant books etc which will be of interest to National and branch members
• To manage the lending of these books.
Budget • $1,000 - purchase books
• $200 - administration

Teacher Sponsorship

Objective To financially assist teachers to relevant conferences
Budget $3,000

Treasurer/Auditoring

Team Louise Northorpe (team leader), Shala Navissi (auditor)
Objective • To ensure correct and effective systems are in place to manage National’s finances.
• To manage National’s finances as required.
• To produce accounts to the requirements of the auditor.
• To advise branches with their financial requirements.
Budget  $50
Deliverables • Annual audited accounts
• Monthly financial report

Membership Management

Objective • Process new members
• Maintain membership details
• Handle membership enquiries
