Gifted Awareness Week Film / Photo Competition 2010

To celebrate Gifted Awareness Week (14th – 20th June 2010) and as well as our art / writing competition, the New Zealand Association for Gifted Children is running a film / photo competition to celebrate gifted kids, their families and professional educators.

Categories:

Primary: Yrs 4–6
Photo Competition: THROUGH THE KEYHOLE
- Provide a series of 3–5 photographs to illustrate a story on this theme.

Intermediate
Film Competition: ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE
Provide a short film on this theme. It should be no long than 5½ minutes including any credits. Entries are open to both individuals and groups.

Secondary
Film Competition: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
- Provide a short film on this theme. It should be no longer than 5½ minutes including any credits. Entries are open to both individuals and groups.

Prizes

The prizes will be goodie bags of DVDs and books provided by the NZ Film Commission and other sponsors, as well as gifts from Weta Digital.

Competition Rules

  • Entries should be received no later than 31 July 2010.
  • All films should be submitted in DVD disc format and sent to:
    Gifted Awareness Week Competition,
    NZAGC,
    PO Box 47,
    Greenhithe,
    Auckland 0756.
    Photographs should be emailed as high-res jpegs to competition@giftedchildren.org.nz. They can also be copied onto a DVD or sent as prints to the postal address listed above.
  • Entries must specify which category is being entered and include the entrant’s name, age (for children’s categories) and a contact telephone number.
  • All images of persons on film or in photos must have the permission of the said persons.
  • By submitting an entry, a competitor agrees to have his/her name and work published in Tall Poppies and /or on the NZAGC’s website (www.giftedchildren.org.nz), and waives any claims of royalty, right or remuneration for such use.
  • The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • NZAGC committee members, members of the judging panel and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
  • The competition is open to all residents of New Zealand and to all NZAGC members, both national and International.
