Hello,

As our family is part of the gifted community, I am writing to let you know that I have been selected as a finalist for the ‘Perfect Day’ competition run by New World and TVNZ Breakfast!

Here is the link for the finalists. I am number 6:

http://tvnz.co.nz/breakfast-news/new-world-s-perfect-day-finalists-4902463

If there is any way you could vote and/ get the word out for people to vote, I would much appreciate it.
I would love to win this for my husband and daughter! They look after me so well, and totally deserve their special day out.

People must vote only once. Voting closes 9am, Tuesday the 12th of June. Every entry goes in the draw to win one of 12 New World vouchers worth $200.

Kind Regards,

Zenith Benedict.

Hi Zenith - I've been on and voted for you! My son loves hanging with your daughter at Explorers camps and although we have never met, I have great admiration and respect for you all.
I truly believe you deserve to win this - especially as it's not really for you, but for your family. You are the most selfless person I know and I just want to say how hopeful I am that you are succesful with this!

Best wishes,
Rebecca Reckin

Hi Zenith

I've been and voted, never met you and don't know your circumstances but can understand a little of what and why you're asking for this for your family. I broke my ankle in February and have had nothing but major problems, still not able to walk with crutches, it has been terrible being stuck at home, having hubby having to do everything and my gorgeous dear 10 year old son helping me with so much.

You're family sound wonderful and I hope you win.
Marshe:)

Wow, what a surprise!

Thank you so much everybody.

Lots and lots of appreciation coming your way :-)

Marshe, only since this has happened, have I really understood what people can and do live through/get through. My disorder has some pretty horrific symptoms during bad patches, and there is no real treatment or help with it.

Aren't we lucky to be blessed with wonderful families!! :-) mine have gotten me through so much. They are so brave too... Sometimes I think it must almost be harder for them to see everything that happens.

I really hope you see some improvement Marshe. What an unfortunate thing to have happened, and restricted you for this long. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Take care everybody, and thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I need to add that somebody pointed this out to me in the small print:

29. Voters voting for a winner on TVNZ.co.nz/Breakfast page may only vote for any contestant once.  If the Promoters suspect that a Voter has lodged additional votes or that any votes have been generated by a computer or other electronic methods, these votes will be disqualified.

Which means that people can vote for more than one finalist, but only once for each, I believe. In the spirit of fairness, I needed to point out my mistake!

We didn't win... but thank you so much, all the people who voted for D and A to win their perfect day and/ spread the word about it! We feel pretty lucky that people cared enough to vote for our entry :-)

Best Wishes!

Zenith

Hello everybody,

Later yesterday morning I received a phone call to say that Foodstuffs NZ decided to make me an 'extra winner' as we came 2nd in the votes, and they loved the story about my husband and daughter - so they are awarding a $1000 prize for my husband and our girl to have a very special day out.

It was such surprising news, and really great to find we came second in the votes! :-)

Thank you again, for all the people who voted. D and A are very excited about the special outing (or perhaps outings) they will have. Great news.

Best wishes!

p.s. Here is a link showing the lovely winner Katherine Thomas, and below that you can see my husband and daughter - extra winners :-):
