 preschooler+ educational sites

Some sites I find interesting and useful are:

1. www.learningpage.com

To access this free site you need to register and use a password. It also has links to loads of other learning sites. Rebecca - currently on its news section is an article about the current 'political debate' (in America) regards phonics vs whole language learning for reading. It bascally concludes that learning to read is a bit like a balanced diet: a bit of everything and perhaps different ratios for different kids. Makes sense.

2. www.readinga-z.com

This costs $USD30 to subscribe to for 6 mths. It's been really good for my 3 1/2 yr old son to help him learn to read. There are 100's of readers available to print out and Ryan loves them and enjoys reading them.

3. www.kidzone.ws

This free site doesn't need a password to access and there are many useful things on this one as well.

Regards, Sue

Dear Tracey, The web site I have been using is Schoolexpress.com.They have a lot of free worksheets and some great ideas to follow through with on our own.My daughter really enjoys doing them on her own. They have some fantastic ideas that we do together and I have found that the worksheets are good for extending her when she needs it.Good luck,I hopes this helps.

Check out www.storyresources.com
For magnet story resources and rhymes etc - free resources are still being added to intergrated each story across the curriculum - pre and emergent literacy and numeracy skills - in fun games and activities etc.
These resources are very good for gifted children particcularly for using to 'telling' their own stories'
