Does anyone have information about the entrance tests designed by the University of Canterbury? I hear that some schools use them as screening for extension programmes.
Not aware of these at all, nor of their use as screening tools for extension programmes. Do you have an actual name for the tests as this might make it easier for people to identify?
I am aware of them - not as tests for entry into extension programmes - but as an assessment used by an integrated school for *all* kids coming in to year 7. I believe this school awards a couple of academic scholarships based on the results, and I think group/stream classes based on the results.
I didn't get the impression they were cog assessments so much as knowledge-based (eg. what do they know already, where are the gaps etc.).
That they were designed by Uni of Canterbury is all I know as well in terms of i.d.
