Hi. We are just discovering the wide world of Asperges, NZAGC etc and gaining some understanding and security for our wee fella. Our son is 11 and we are just completing a diagnostic showing ASD along with a few extra behavioural challenges like verbal and physical tics, terribly slow written and work completion skills, obsession with certain topics, extreme sensitivity to hurting others, together with some high intelligence. Finally, we are working actively with the school on bullying both verbal and emotional.
He goes to intermediate school this coming year and we are very keen to catch up on what now seems so long overdue. We are particularly interested in support services and/or funding options specific to ongoing schooling in NZ. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Hiya, I don't know too much about funding etc for aspergers, but a work colleague has a son at high school with ASD and she gets a disability allowance for him - as well as taxi's to and from school etc. I'm not sure what else she gets but could try to find out. What area are you in?
I also have a son heading off to intermediate next year and he has had tourettes syndrome since he was about 6, so we have experienced motor and verbal tics, so know a little about that - there is no treatment, no medical follow up and no funding or support for that side of thing.
I also have a brother who recently started working at a satellite class at an intermediate school with special needs kids, a lot of who are ASD, I could get some info from him if i know what information you are after.
let us know what sort of info you need. May be someone else here can help too.
