Has anyone heard of, or had their child assessed by, Emrie De Vaal? I'm told that she works closely with Lynn Berresford. It was Lynn Berresford who was originally recommended to me but the wait to see her is much longer and I might end up being carted off to the loony bin while I'm waiting!
Hi there, I am in the process of having my 4 year old assesed with Emrie. We chose to have her assesed to confirm giftedness for future schooling decisions. We have no other emotional/ behaviour / social issues so can not comment on how Emrie would address this. We have however found her fantastic. She realised when DD was getting tired and not answering questions and rather than pushing her was happy to spread the assesment over a number of additional appointments. She was also very quick to respond to emails regarding the assesment to date. My daughter was happy to go and it was all a very non threatening process.
Hi there, We had our eldest daughter assessed by Lynn, who was great. However we didn't end up with much info on how to deal with the frustrations we were having as her parents, which is actually why we went! Not at all that we thought she was gifted in any way, just a smart kid!! We had our second daughter assessed for a school we wanted her to go to by Emrie as the wait for Lynn was to long and she was just as helpful and marvelous as Lynn. In fact, it is my understanding from memory 18 months ago when my second daughter was assessed that Emrie works quite closely with Lynn. I am sure Emrie would consult with Lynn if there were any uncertainties regarding a child she was assessing. She was excellent post assessment and was actually happy to meet with us closer to home as we live in east auckland not far from her. You won't go wrong with anyone at Indigo :)
