 Private Assessments

Hello everyone

Just to let you know, these days I continue to work for the Gifted Education Centre as the Head of the assessment Team; and I have also established (with the knowledge and blessing of the Gifted Education Centre) my own private educational assessment practice and have been taking private clients for some months now. The assessments I do privately are more comprehensive than those I do for the Centre, taking a comprehensive look at abilities and also achievement for each individual and exploring any discrepancies. I use the same test battery as SPELD (NZ). Whilst giftedness continues of course to be an area of expertise and passion for me, I am also experienced and very comfortable working with students and young adults with learning difficutlies, mixed abilities, specific learning styles, who are unhappy at school or not achieving as expected within education for a variety of reasons. I have tailored my fees to ensure they are extremely competitive and therefore more within the reach of families. Current fees are $480 with no additional costs for discussing outcome, reports etc. For a modest mileage fee I am happy to conduct assessments in your people's own homes if that suits better.

Could I ask you please to feel free to refer clients /families to me for assessment. My practice is called Educational Assessment Services and website, email and contact details are as below. The website contains an overview of what I offer and will have images added as soon as I figure out how!

Hope the holidays are treating you well
Chris Herbert

Got contact details from front page 'Find a Psychologist' section.
Auckland is a bit far for us unfortunately. Good luck and if you want to take a working holiday in the South Island there are plenty of people on 3 month+ waiting lists for assessment here!!

Can someone suggest a good, and hopefully with reasonable fees, counselor for a teen girl with mild Aspergers? She's already been diagnosed. We feel we need some assistance in working toward modifying some of her behavior.
