My 3.5 year ole loves music and would love to take her to lessons. The only issue is that we love all music, we don't like being forced into things and we are a perfectionist, in terms of if I can't play like that, I should not even attempt.
Does anyone know of anyone one south Auckland direction that we could see, we are more interested in a good teacher rather than instrument and style.
I observed a keyboard music lesson of students aged between 4-7 years old on Saturday at the Technics Music Academy on Chapel Road, Dannemora. We were only there for 10-15 minutes as my son was getting quite restless, due to the fact that we were purely there to observe and he wasn't actively participating. However, based on what I saw in the short time that we were there, I am looking at enrolling my son (4 years old). It is likely that he will start next term. The teacher applied short activities (3 minutes or so) before moving onto the next activity. I really liked this, as I feel that she was able to engage the children and keep them interested. I can't tell you anything other than what I've mentioned already. Time will tell I guess as to whether the lessons have been good for my son, who also, absolutely LOVES music.
