2 yr old to attend small poppies?

Has anyone of your kids been to Small poppies when they're only 2 years of age? My daughter might be attending the programme, but could she possibly cope? I just don't want her to feel threatened. She's only 2 y and 1 week to be exact. Besides that, she's not yet toilet trained and still drinking formula from the bottle...

Need some advice please..

Hi Jinky,

My daughter was going to her sibling's (3yrs) class when she was only 1yr 4mths. Even then, she was allowed to join in - if she wasn't asleep. By 2yrs she was participating in the activities quite enthusiastically. There were days when she wasn't interested and as I was focussed on her sibling I did leave the decision to join up to her.

I think if I would have been solely focussed on her she would have got even more out of each session. You know your daughter best. If she has the ability to listen from time to time and is happy to sit for a little bit at each activity then she would be ready. If she is more energetic and has trouble sitting at several indoor activities (with the odd outdoor break) then perhaps it would be better to wait.

The best way to know is to ask if you can go along for one trial session to see how she goes. Or enrol for one term and get an indication that way. I would recommend giving it a shot, because even if she doesn't absorb everything that is shown or discussed, she has the chance to interact with others of similar abilities and you have the chance to chat with other parents about these great kids, the ups and downs etc.

Good luck.
