Is there anything at all in Queenstown? Central Otago?
We are sadly lacking any sort of support down this way- with a number of parents pulling their hair out !
Hi, we had the Explorers club that ran for a couple of years about 2006, (as a sub-branch of Christchuch) and it was the same parents who did everything so that folded and then i know of another couple of parents whp tried to get it going again about 3 years ago but it didn't really get off the ground. Problem is that there's so much to do already that people couldn't commit. - maybe start your own club.
I am in Wanaka. I have a 9 year old boy who is in the ODS here. I would be keen to come over to QTN for a monthly activity. It would be great to have an explorers group in the district.
Hi QT mum, i live in Goldfields but not interested in setting up another club, i can tell you though that we had ODS running very effectively until about 2 years ago in a room at Arrowtown. Southern REAP disbanded it saying they were going to set up some cluster programme incorporating all the schools - haven't seen much happening.
My daughter did GO which is Gifted Online for a couple of years, cost was around $450 per term and that was approx 5 years ago.
