Michael M. Piechowski
Michael Piechowski is a very special name in gifted education. Michael has dedicated his years in this field to understanding the emotional and spiritual world of the gifted young person. His insights have inspired so many others and aroused our awareness of the sensitivity and intensity of life for the gifted. He has introduced us to the work of Dabrowski, and made overexcitabilities an integral part of the language of gifted education. We are thrilled that he has agreed to come here to share his wisdom with us.
The Mind Lab Group
Since the dawn of civilization, board games have played an important part in human culture. Much knowledge has since been forgotten and our lifestyles have changed. Violent, action-packed computer games, intense video clips, and a plethora of television programmes have replaced the traditional activity of sitting together around the game board, an activity requiring deep thought, patience, perseverance, and social cooperation. The Mind Lab Group has reinstated the board game to its rightful and natural place and has transformed it once again into a powerful educational tool that appeals to children's hearts and heads alike. Thanks to a tested and proven methodology, The Mind Lab Group is engaged in one of the greatest educational challenges of our day.
NZAGC's 2010 AGM will take place at 5pm on Saturday, March 27 2010, Wheki Room 302, Canterbury University. All members and anyone interested in furthering the cause of gifted children in New Zealand are welcome to attend. Only NZAGC members are entitled to vote. Full AGM details here.
